Interesting to see how much you improved between this playthrough and the next 500% one. In this campaign you do a good job but the 500% one was basically flawless.

Personaly i never understood the "you will feel the satisfaction once you unlock drones" argument. Like duh, ofc it will feel better with bigger inventory in game where collecting stuff is majority of your actions. To me the satisfaction is very short in comparison to how long iam forced to used small inventory (more inventory slots is usualy like late game stuff to reach it). I always use mods, console commands, i will adjust the .cfg etc. Iam behind the point to let devs waste my time.

This map was awesome! Loved the spread out fortifications,(most) legions historically acurate outside of the city, grand insulae. You struggled for every inch of the map and did so masterfully! One of the most enjoyable ceasar sessions so far.

You have probably already seen this, but at the start the game did not ask you to make two construction microchips. You were asked to make a construction microchip and then equip a construction microchip (ie. the chip you made).

It's funny to say this map is holding you back because when I do a no beacon challenge (albeit just on serenity, I have enough stress in my life) I prefer this map because you can at least get steam cores some way, whereas on other maps you have to stick with the cores you start with (5 for serenity) which is a bit of a juggle. It's a pretty good challenge (even in serenity you can jack the difficult to extreme if tha's how you like it)

Hey, I just want to say I've been massively enjoying watching these videos and its certainly helping me wanting to actually play the game. One thing I wanted to know, whats the song called that starts playing at 3:20:25, I heard it a few times through these streams but I don't think I recognise it but love listening to it.

As a Planet Crafter veteran, it's painful to watch him play. By going in blind there's a lot he doesn't know... like the iridium cave right outside his base where the sand is falling like a waterfall. I'm doing a lot of screen screaming here

It's actually insane how most people can't beat this scenario on the easiest setting without practicing in endless and reading a bunch of guides and luck... but Jake can do it on extreme with the generator OFF. How is that possible? It really highlights how badly designed this game is that it's 90 percent cheesing exploits and unintuitive micromanagement. I hate this fucking game so much. *360 hours playtime logged on steam*.

One thing you can do is build the workshops to create the materials needed to build the generator then once you have em all, wait until the next storm is gone then build the generator in one swoop (if you're willing to use emergency shift)

I used to play PZ back when it was in early alpha/beta. Gameplay now (that i havent played) is completely different from back then. Its a completely new game. Funny how things change over time, and those arent small changes. Its X turns Y kinda stuff. Scary...

regarding w&r, this is is really slow going, no matter the tricks you use. You can speed it up a lot by setting near border, but from my 100h expirence you need few years of set up before even bringing any citizens. It's mighy addictive tho, im hoping to see it on stream in realistic mode

Hi Jake, after this stream Sudazima updated the map and now at the moment when you say that you're sitting without money i laugh a lot. Now we have just 2 years of selling marble and half of this time you're crating the economy, and half of the half time you have sand storms and have 0 donkeys, invasions became harder, less spot for marble mining. Now this map is just out of hell and i really like it. I've spend 2 years of ultra debt -5k+, defended against 2 romans army and won the game. Sudazima have made incredibly efficient and punishment map i'm really proud that i've won it.

Lots of good moments in this randomizer, but I think 4:52:08 takes the cake, especially after the preceding 15 minutes of climbing.

At about 5:10:00 that is a late game area that is supposed to be inaccessible to the player until both the ice melts and they can make explosives. It is supposed to be a conclusion to one of the side stories in the game about someone who crash landed on the planet. Jake hadn't even found the start of their story yet, so he had no way of knowing what was going on there. Glitching into that area is super easy and it happened to me in my game. The issue is that since you needed explosives to get into the area, the exit is still locked when you glitch in. Meaning, the only way out is to either glitch your way out, or abuse the unstuck (f4) button until you force yourself through the walls. It is a glitch that the devs will probably fix at some point. There really is no benefit to being there early, the game only spawns new items after certain milestones are hit. So you can't sequence break or get late game tech early. It is just a story area.

On the aluminum/aluminium spelling: the name was given by Sir Humphry Davy in 1807, and he chose "aluminum." Thanks for posting this video. I've watch 3 hours or so so far, and it has inspired me to reinstall PlanetCrafter and give it another go. Better at it this time -- especially after watching this video -- but it is still pretty frustrating at times. I actually can see some progress this time though.

How did I miss this!?! Planet crafter referencing Subnuatica made me think "he has to have played it, and if he played it he had to stream it, right?"

The gameplay loop for this game goes from Subnautica to Factorio. So I get the feeling that Jake will enjoy the later parts of this game a lot. The last 3rd of this game was a blur for me because I was just getting supply chains up and running for every resource in the entire game to have a stockpile of them all.

I really like the soundtrack. I tried to listen to it on its own, but it's just okaying. But as a background to the game it works very well. Also works well for the "sleep video" ;)

A few tips for you. Make sure you save a few pieces of ice as you will need them much further down the line but by then the ice will be gone. You will want mine in magnesium area, iridium cave and osmium caves. The cave areas give different minerals you can see reflected on the roof of the cave. You won't be able to mine for specific mineral until you get the better drills so you will get a selection of ores.There is an iridium cave closer than you are and the spot your base is in is fine for flooding but I would make sure you gather the nodes in the low lying area you made your first base in. Beacons can be seen anywhere on the planet so can help direct you if you are lost. Be careful of the pulsar quartz, it will be hard to find. The minerals from the asteroid gradually disappear so loot the asteroid shortly after as they will despawn. The thrust with higher tiers you can go higher with thrusting up once you started already thrusting. Also as it's not very obvious there is 1 storage that is bigger but you have to buy thru trade rocket.

Came here for some nostalgia, and immediately noticed that the chair creak is eternal, even 7 years later.

Great playthrough, as I saw the amount of time left in the video tick down I realised Shepard wasn't making it out of this alive hah. A real game of inches this one.
